Day Two

A bit of a heartbreaking day for members of the Canadian Team but it was punctuated with some fabulous runs.  Jessica & Dice had two gorgeous runs that blew the competition away, Susan & Encore were breathtaking with their flawless individual jumpers run and Dart proved twice over that old dogs certainly do rock!

The best part about FCI is that they really do know how to celebrate the winners.  As soon as the event is over, the top three teams and all their supporters from the country take to the field in what amounts to a giant party with everyone dancing and waving flags.  No one rushes the winners off—they just allow the party to go on.

Tomorrow will be the crowning of the Individual World Champions in Small, Medium & Large.  Encore is sitting in a very pretty position for tomorrow.  Hopefully Canada will be taking to the field in celebration!

Yes...Encore and Susan were pretty impressive today. Rio had better be nice to her "Roomie" tonight so she gets all the rest she needs for what we hope will be a "big" finish for Canada tomorrow. I know you would all like to have your turn "partying" in the big ring with the "Kanadian" flag! One way or another, the team should have a great celebration tomorrow evening...just for being part of an amazing competition! Tell Susan and Encore "we will be watching and cheering them on from this side of the ocean"!

One of the most heartbreaking parts was when Jess & Dice smoked the individual jumpers round and had the fastest time by close to a second but knocked down the second last bar It was a gorgeous run!

No matter the outcome I think you each need to recognize how proud we all are of you and how proud you each should be of your special canine partners. And each take a moment to reflect on your outcomes and the travels you have had together.

I cannot imagine the amount of pressure on the group or anyone competing at this level and I want to say kudos for you each for being where you are.

I hope Brigs mom is able to sleep well tonight, she recovered quickly but it is still very upsetting - at the end of hte day we are all human and sometimes stuff just happens but great job to get up brush herself off and keep running I don't think many could have handled themselves any better!

    Can't wait to see tomorrow!
