Anyone Know What Day It Is? I'm Lost :)
I'm pretty sure its Wednesday night. I had to go back and check the blog to see where I left off!
Yesterday evening, we had our second practice on the competition carpet at a facility about 50minutes outside of Helsinki. It's a very interesting place—I think I'll let the pictures do the talking although I didn't get any of the 'sauna'....

Hmmm.... What could go better with agility than paintball!!! Maybe I should try that—a paintball shot may get some of you running during class? (Watch out Miki & Heather—-You may need to start bringing your running shoes to class....)

...And if you are tired of the sauna, paintball & Tennis, might as well get a little dancing in!

Front of the agility arena

Inside there is room for two narrow rings. The footing is great!

After practice, we found out who will be running which events. Rio is running on the Large dog team with Encore & Spirit (Can't get more patriotic than a team of red dogs!!) and the rest of the big dogs will be running in the Individual competition.
Today the bus tour brought us out of town for a walk in the country. Most of the team dogs joined in on this one and we had a guided hike which ended at a 'sauna' for coffee & cake. Rio & Stevie Ray had a couple of swims in the nearby lakes and Rio had a grand time searching the trees for Flying Squirrels. We didn't see any, but that didn't stop her from trying
A Finnish friend of Daryl's joined us on the hike with the team and then offered to take Daryl, Nan & I on a longer hike through the forest. There are many, many wonderful trails in the countryside. The one she took us on brought us around several small lakes (which Rio and her new BC friend Myy—pronounced Mou— enjoyed). The landscape reminded me exactly of Algonquin Park—right down to the 'beware of Moose/Scandanavian Elk' signs!
I have pictures from the walk, but I sort of got distracted by the evening Bailey's party in our room and my entry and photo downloading got a bit disrupted....
More to come tomorrow. It's bedtime!
