Um.... Where did the day go?

Wow!  The Belgian Adventure is coming to a close.  As per usual, its really late (11:30pm) and we just finished dinner.  I sort of feel like I'm on the same eating schedule as at home considering its 5:30pm there!

A little re-cap of the day...

We ran a Standard course first.  Our two teams were Fly, Encore & Decaff and Minnie, Target & Jitterbug.  Fly, still on a high from yesterday, ran yet another clean course and Encore had a smokin' run for Canada B.  Unfortunately Decaff went off course.  The Canada A team ran with just 5 faults between the 3 dogs.

Jumpers was next and of course Mr-I-Can-Do-No-Wrong ran yet another clean course and his Canada B teammates for that run, Ping Pong & Decaff did too.  Team A (Jitter, Slyce & Minnie) earned 10 faults amongst the three.

The last event of the day was the three dog team.  We ran our Canada A line up of Slyce, Minnie & Target and Canada B of Fly, Decaff & Bogey.  Both teams ran clean and it was a great way to end the day!  With their excellent performance in the team, our Canada A team made the podium with a third place finish in the "Triathalon".  I think our team managed to pull up to 7th or 8th.

Speaking of 7th, I found out this morning that Fly finished 7th overall!  Needless to say I'm mighty pleased )  I still don't really know how he placed in yesterday's standard.  I'm thinking he probably was 4th or 5th, so we just missed the podium.

Well, I guess I should get packing.  I don't think I even have time to download any pictures today (so sorry!!!).  I do have tons from our Canadians on the podium (Kayl pulled another 2 dog on the podium for Jumpers yesterday, Susan earned a 2nd overall with Decaff & Jitter earned a 3rd!)  Our bus leaves bright and early for the ride to the Amsterdam airport.  I sure am going to miss my little hotel room and the really cool jets in my shower (even if they do flood the bathroom).

Happy Mother's Day Mom!  (and all the other moms out there too)

Way to go Tiffany and Fly - and the rest of Team Canada! I am sure that this last week has been an amazing experience for you. The Buckleys must be very proud of the two of you!

Wow - those Russians sure upped their game this year. I recognise several of those names - including the Russian Bacon! He was steady two years ago but that lady sure had an amazing weekend. Are they still the rulers of the blind cross??! Did the South Africans still run with their dogs on their left for the whole run? That was amazing to see last time - they had to run REALLY fast but did very well!

I will miss your blog - great to get the inside story of the goings on. I see that the UK may be the host in 2010 so I had better get training that little dog of mine so I can maybe get a trip home!

    Safe travels back to Canada!
