A Trip to Brugges

Last night we met up with Jane & Mike shortly before dinner.  Fly was a little shocked to find them here and was very happy to see them.  We also met up with Shannen and her family at a team dinner in the hotel dining room.  The dogs got to come too and slept happily under the tables.

This morning we had breakfast and then a gang of us (including Pekoe, Bogey, Minnie & Fly) headed to the Kortrijk train station for a trip into Brugges.  The dogs had to get a ticket to ride on the train!  3.8 Euros (about $5) for a round trip doggie ticket.  It was a short walk from the train station to downtown and we had a great time seeing the beautiful city.  We took a boat ride (yes, the dogs came too) through several of the canals that dissect the old part of the city and then had lunch/waffles/beer in the Markt (that’s not a typo—that’s what they call it!) square.  The waiters even brought our well behaved pups water bowls.  We ran into the South American agility team in Brugges.  They were all worried that their little dogs were going to have to compete against little Minnie!  No mention of fear of competing against our Border Collies!  How insulting LOL.  We also ran into Stacy Peardot-Goudy and Julie Press.  Small world!

Some of the gang in Brugges-Marti, Marie-Pierre & Minnie, Robin & Bogey, Lucie, Kayl, Fly and Mike & Jane (who are waving to a tour boat below).

Susan and Decaff should have arrived this aft.  We hopefully will see them at dinner tonight.  Tomorrow is an off-site practice.   They are letting us have 2 hours of practice time on the equipment that will be used in the competition.

Fly is pretty exhausted this aft, but in the past 24 hours he’s been on a plane, a bus, a train and a boat!  Now that’s one well traveled dog!  Personally I’m doing great.  I feel like I’m over the time change already and I’m definitely enjoying a few Belgian beers!  The weather here has been great which is really surprising the locals.  Hopefully it’ll continue.

Tiffany glad to hear all is well. Sounds like Fly enjoyed his flight. Ignore the Americans you and Fly can kick butt. My best to the Buckley's they will find it is more nerve racking watching then competing.
by the way it is THE Belgian CHOCOLATE not the beer. <;0)
    We are cheering you on.

Fly & his pals all did fine on the flight. I think I put something in the previous post--if not I guess I will have to write something tonight LOL

Crash Test Toys made the whole team slip leashes. Bogey & Minnie are wearing theirs and Fly has on a leash made by Heather Gallagher (Goose's 'mom')

Great update Tiffany! So glad to hear that you taking the time to see the area a bit. Taking a train sounds a lot less stressful than us getting lost in Den Haggen two years ago!

Say Hi to Shannen and the rest of the Calgary crowd for me - they are a great bunch and are great for a laugh! Also say Hi to Julie P. when you see her.
